There are people in the same situation as me who will completely unironically disagree with everything I just said. I haven't made much of an effort to get into them, but I am highly convinced that if you grew up 10 years after me, your childhood was considerably more awesome than mine could ever hope to be. If you stack up the old games against the new ones, they are considerably outmatched in depths of graphics (well duh), gameplay, storyline and characters. Possibly because of me no longer being pre-adolescent, possibly due to me tiring of repetitive (and increasingly slow paced) gameplay, but certainly not due to objective quality. Specifically, I love it for the phenomenon it was in the late '90s towards the early '00s and then it loses a bit of grip.
